京都外國語大學是一所很多元的大學，之所以會念這間的別科是因為，裡面有很多外國人，能增加自己的國際觀，感覺自己在台灣22年是時候該往另一個國家闖闖看（今年22歲 >< ）而且自己也覺得不能只會日文，會英文更是重要」，自己需要新的刺激，迫使自己能成長，我想跳脫舒適圈是相當重要的，學習也是如此，要不斷尋求困難並克服它，自己也才會成長！

關西大學是一所日本私立有名的大學（據我所知～～），他是“關關同立”裡的其中一所，它位於大阪市千里山附近，我這次申請的是他們的日本語別科，這是一種來日本後類似跳板的方式，用來學習語言的一個計劃，你可以花一年去適應日本當地的生活、文化，再決定是要升學還是當地就業。相當於大學的語言學校的概念，但你仍然可以享有與大學生一樣的大學資源，你可以去圖書館、買學生票等等的！

AWS (Amazon Web Services) is the most popular cloud service provider. Around 70% of companies choose AWS to support their products. Because of this, AWS certifications in various domains are becoming more and more popular. I also decided to take the AWS certification exam to improve my tech stack. AWS offers hundreds of services, such as Route 53, EC2, ELB, and many more. In the SAA (Solutions Architect Associate) exam, I need to memorize most of these services and understand how to combine them to build an application. The test includes many real-world scenarios where you need to find the most appropriate solution to application problems.

Takeaway​

After taking the AWS SAA exam, I truly felt a sense of achievement. This was the first step in improving my English. I truly believe that English is important in computer science, especially because most of the documents I read are in English. Now, I feel less afraid of reading English materials. I think this is the beginning of my journey in both English and computer science. I’ll keep my passion alive!

神岡馬拉松是我第一次的全馬，我在這場馬拉松自己覺得表現並不是很好，主要是因為跑步姿勢的不好，導致我過半馬後，小腿跟足底開始痛，再來練習也不夠，配速也太快，才導致這些問題。這次是跟我朋友和他們的社團去跑的，認識了蠻多人，還認識了參加過波士頓馬拉松的人！感覺超厲害的啦！下次的全馬我也要再把技術給練起來，以不受傷為目標努力！

On Saturday afternoon, we rented a car together and drove to the mountain hut where we were to stay for the first night. Along the way, we stopped at convenience stores to buy food and supplies for the two days. The journey was filled with laughter as we drove while listening to music and enjoying the beautiful sunset scenery. By the time we arrived at our destination, it was already evening. We gathered in the mountain hut to enjoy the dinner we had bought earlier. After the meal, we decided to go out for a walk.

The moment we opened the door, a gust of cold wind rushed towards us. Out of curiosity, we ventured a short distance despite the chill. Just as we were about to head back to the hut, one of my friends exclaimed, “Look up!” That’s when I noticed the sky filled with countless stars, a sight I had never seen before. I was so excited that I hurried to capture the scene with my phone. It felt like the stars were blessing us for a successful climb the next day!

The following day, we woke up at 3 a.m., changed into our gear, and began our summit attempt. At that time, it was still dark, and we relied on our headlamps to illuminate the path. Along the way, we spotted some of Taiwan’s endemic species, which we assumed were Formosan muntjacs. Although we weren’t entirely sure, it was both surprising and delightful to see them. As the sun gradually rose, it illuminated the entire valley.

We were fortunate to have perfect weather that day—no wind, no rain—which felt like a gift from above. As we ascended, the vegetation around us gradually transitioned from broadleaf forests to coniferous trees. We speculated that these might be Taiwan firs or Taiwan cypresses.

Throughout the hike, we were mindful of our timing. After persistent effort, we reached the summit around 11 a.m.! The final stretch was nothing short of grueling. The steep, zigzagging trail, combined with the thin air, made every step feel like a challenge. At times, we had to use our hands to climb. I am truly grateful for the excellent weather that day; if it had been windy or rainy, we likely wouldn’t have made it.

Standing on the main peak of Yushan brought an indescribable sense of emotion. This was my first climb of one of Taiwan’s Hundred Peaks, and I am determined to continue conquering Taiwan’s mountains with my own two feet!

Introduction​

Sun Moon Lake is located in Nantou, in the central part of Taiwan. It is the largest lake in Taiwan. It serves as a reservoir and generates electricity to provide local people with water and power. The scenery is very beautiful, and many tourists come here and stay in hotels. Additionally, Taiwanese black tea from this area is also famous. The tea eggs are very delicious—if you have an opportunity, you must come and try one!

Marathon​

Today, I had to run 27 km. This was my first time running more than 21 km. In addition, the changes in altitude made it even more challenging and tested my running ability. If I ran too fast at the beginning, the last part would feel like a nightmare. On the other hand, if I ran too slowly, I might not finish the marathon. So it was difficult to decide what pace I should run. At the beginning of the race, because I wanted to get a good finishing time, I ran faster than usual. I regretted this after 21 km—my feet and legs cramped, and I could hardly run anymore. I had to slow down and start walking. “I felt like I didn’t have much chance to finish the marathon.” I looked at the steep road ahead, feeling depressed and frustrated, but I still didn’t give up. Finally, I finished! When I saw the finish line, it felt like seeing an oasis. It was an unforgettable experience. The scenery was truly gorgeous. I highly recommend everyone try this marathon!

I worked as a software engineer intern at ZK Soft Partner. This was a completely new experience for me, as I had little prior knowledge about what a software engineering career entails. Overall, it was an exciting and inspiring start to my professional journey.

Work Responsibilities​

During my internship, I was tasked with developing a testing procedure. At first, I felt frustrated because none of my co-workers were familiar with the task, so I had to figure things out on my own. I spent a lot of time reading documentation, asking senior engineers for guidance, and doing my best to complete the task. By the end of my internship, I had tested many React components and worked on end-to-end testing.

Takeaways​

Over the course of these months, I learned a great deal. I gained insight into how a company operates, what software engineers do, and the roles of different positions within the company. These questions were all answered during my internship. Additionally, I developed important computer science skills. Now, I am motivated to continue progressing academically and improve my English. I sincerely thank my co-workers who supported and taught me. I look forward to having an even better work experience in the future!
